Panzer Grenadier: Afrika Korps - The Desert War

Plan Orient. In 1940, the doorway to the rich oil fields of the Middle East lay in the desert sands of North Africa - a doorway barred by the mighty British 8th Army, a.k.a The Desert Rats, led by Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery. Germany’s key to success lay in the charismatic leadership of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and the Deutsches Afrika Korps. Together with their Italian allies, they sought to unlock the gateway to the east, and sieze control of the Suez Canal. Afrika Korps introduces the Origins Award nominated Panzer Grenadier system to a new theater of World War II. Players take command of platoon sized units in the struggle for control of the North African desert. Includes scenarios for battles during Operation: Battleaxe, Operation: Crusader, the Siege of Tobruk, and the battles of Gazala. Includes new game pieces representing German, British & Italian infantry, tanks & artillery. Afrika Korps is a stand alone addition to the Panzer Grenadier system of games.

Panzer Grenadier: Alaska's War

In June 1942, Japanese troops landed in the western Aleutian Islands of Alaska, the only large-scale foreign invasion of American soil since 1815. In May 1943 the Americans invaded Attu Island, sending 15,000 troops against about 2,500 Japanese defenders. The Japanese fought with suicidal determination: 28 fell into American hands as prisoners with the remainder killed in action.

Two months later the Americans launched an even larger invasion of nearby Kiska Island, only to find that the Japanese had evacuated three weeks before and the Americans captured an uninhabited island.

Alaska's War is a supplement based on the Japan's lone invasion of the Western Hemisphere and the American response.

There are ten scenarios, or separate game situations, based on battles that took place in the Aleutian Islands. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of our Battle of the Bulge, Guadalcanal, Afrika Korps and Desert Rats games. Each scenario has its own card in a spiral-bound booklet, just like the popular North Wind and Edelweiss.

Panzer Grenadier: Arctic Front Deluxe APL820: Panzer Grenadier: Arctic Front Deluxe is Out of Stock

In November 1939, over a million Soviet troops began an invasion of Finland, defended by 160,000 soldiers. The Finns lacked artillery, tanks and aircraft, but made up for it with sisu — Finnish for fighting spirit. The Winter War lasted for four months, but Finns fought the Soviets again in the Continuation War of 1941-1944, and fought the Germans in the Lappland War of 1944.

Arctic Front Deluxe Edition is a Panzer Grenadier supplement adding the Finnish army to the game series. It is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front to play most of the scenarios, and Road to Berlin and Battle of the Bulge to play all of them.

It's a revised version of the original Arctic Front supplement released in 2002, the very first supplement to the Panzer Grenadier system. All of the previous 20 scenarios have been thoroughly revised to take advantage of map boards and playing pieces not available then, and with five more years of design experience and player feedback. And there are 20 more new scenarios as well plus background articles and order of battle charts in a 64-page book just like the popular Sinister Forces and Fronte Russo.

Panzer Grenadier: Battle of the Bulge

"Battle of the Bulge is the fifth game in the Panzer Grenadier series, following Eastern Front, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Airborne and Afrika Korps. It focuses on the fighting in the southern sector of the battle zone, where German panzer and parachute divisions drove on the key crossroads of Bastogne. American infantry, armor and paratroopers initially gave way, but rallied, held, and drove the Germans back.

The game includes 51 scenarios, ranging in size from small ones playable in well under an hour to large tank battles. There are four hard-mounted game boards showing typical terrain from the Ardennese region where the battle took place. The game includes 465 game pieces, representing tank and infantry platoons, artillery batteries, and individual leaders.

Battle of the Bulge 2: Elsenborn Ridge

In late December, 1944, German armies rolled into the wooded hills of the Ardennes in eastern Belgium, striking a final blow against the American troops forcing their way toward German territory. Elsenborn Ridge covers the fierce fighting on the "north shoulder" of the Battle of the Bulge between the American First Army and the German Sixth SS Panzer Army and Fifth Panzer Army. The heroic stand at St. Vith by 7th Armored Division, the "panzer graveyard" of Krinkelt, the destruction of 1st SS Panzer Division — it's all here, and more.

Elsenborn Ridge is a stand-alone game in the Panzer Grenadier series: You do not need the original Battle of the Bulge volume or any other game in the series to play any of the 35 scenarios. These include fierce tank battles and infantry actions, including the failed drive of Jochen Peiper's battle group toward the Meuse River, 3rd Armored Division's destruction of 2nd SS Panzer Division, the American stand along Elsenborn Ridge and the collapse of the 106th Infantry Division.

Pieces include American paratroopers, German Tiger II tanks, American P47 fighter-bombers, German "Nebelwerfer" rocket launchers, and much more. Both German regular army and Waffen SS troops are present. There are four semi-rigid mapboards, the same type as those found in Airborne and Eastern Front, created by a new artist to the series, video game veteran Guy Riessen.

Panzer Grenadier: Beyond Normandy

Beyond Normandy is a Panzer Grenadier game covering the British operations from the end of June to the middle of July and the German reactions to them. Three maps (two 22" x 34" and one 22" x 17") depict the actual battlefield at 200 meters a hex and include individual bridges, villages, tracks, roads, hedgerows and church steeples.

The 583 playing pieces represent leaders, infantry and tank platoons and artillery batteries. They include the weapons employed by British infantry and armored brigades and German SS and Wehrmacht panzer and infantry divisions. New British tank types include the Churchill, Cromwell and Firefly tanks, the flame-throwing Crocodile, and the bomb-throwing AVRE. The Germans bring tough SS grenadiers, Panther tanks and more.

The game includes 39 scenarios and 5 "super" scenarios (combining two or more of the scenarios into a large-scale operational scenario).

Panzer Grenadier: Blue Division

When Nazi armies launched their sneak attack on the Soviet Union in June 1941, Spanish fascists exulted. Still nursing deep hatreds from the Soviet role in the Spanish Civil War, thousands volunteered to fight alongside the Germans. Spanish dictator Francisco Franco organized them into a “Blue Division” to carry the fight to the Russians and, not coincidentally, send the most politically active fascists far away from Madrid.

Blue Division is a supplement to the Panzer Grenadier series, focusing on the actions of this unit between 1941 and 1943. Organized as a standard German infantry division, the Spanish unit fought well in some of the hardest fighting of the campaign. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front and Road to Berlin to play all of the scenarios.

All the new pieces represent Spanish volunteer forces: infantry, ski, engineer, motorcycle, bicycle and machine-gun troops; anti-tank guns, mortars and artillery, and of course leaders. Scenarios cover actions of these units between their arrival on the Eastern Front in October, 1941 and their departure almost exactly two years later.

Panzer Grenadier: Campaigns and Commanders Vol 1: War in the East

Panzer Grenadier: Campaigns and Commanders is a new series of book supplements that adds campaign games and World War II roleplaying to our long-running Panzer Grenadier game system. The series introduces new rules that let Panzer Grenadier players create Leader Characters representing officers in the armies of the great powers that fought World War II. Leader Characters participate in battle scenarios just like normal Panzer Grenadier leaders, but have far more detailed skills and abilities that add a whole new dimension to Panzer Grenadier play.

War in the East includes the campaign games "The September Campaign: 1939," “Barbarossa: 1941,” and “The Battle for Germany: 1945.” It also includes historical articles and strategy tips on how to use Leader Characters in battle. It is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front Deluxe, Road to Berlin and White Eagles to enjoy all of the campaigns.

Panzer Grenadier: Desert Rats

Desert Rats is the seventh volume in the Panzer Grenadier series, and the second to cover fighting in North Africa. Like Battle of the Bulge and Afrika Korps, it has fifty scenarios. Desert Rats is a stand-alone game; no other game from the series is required to play any of the 50 scenarios.

The 50 scenarios pick up where Afrika Korps left off, in late 1941 with the British offensive known as Operation Crusader. They continue until the late spring of 1942, ending with the Gazala tank battles. However, not all of them come strictly from this time frame. The game includes Indian, New Zealand and Italian Colonial units, and there are scenarios for their use from earlier in 1941.

There are two maps, each on sturdy paper and measuring 22 x 34 inches. They are compatible with the maps from Afrika Korps, and like those they are generic desert terrain but loosely based on actual locations, in this case Sidi Rezegh and Bir el Gubi. Many of the 50 scenarios take place at these locations just outside Tobruk, the scenes of intense fighting. Others take place across Libya, with a few from Eritrea and Somaliland in East Africa.

Panzer Grenadier: Eastern Front Deluxe

On 22 June 1941, German, Romanian and other Axis forces launched a surprise attack against the Soviet Union. This touched off the most vicious war the planet has ever known, as millions of men (and sometimes women) fought fanatically in a war of annihilation that ended only when the Red Army of Workers and Peasants planted its banners on the Reichstag in Berlin.

The original Panzer Grenadier. A lightweight compared to the new Deluxe Edition.

Eastern Front is a game based on the opening year of this intense struggle, with 112 separate scenarios, or game situations, based on the actual battles waged in the Soviet Union during 1941 and 1942.

The game is part of the Panzer Grenadier game series, portraying the leaders, infantry and tank platoons and artillery batteries deployed during the campaign. It’s a total revision of the game we first released in 2000.

Panzer Grenadier: Edelweiss Expanded Edition

For six years, Germany's mountain troops provided rapid mobility in rough terrain where the panzers could not operate. Gebirgsjäger fought in the Carpathians, Greece, the Caucasus, Norway, Italy and on the Arctic tundra. Eventually seven divisions of elite Army mountain troops and three of very poor Waffen SS troops would be formed.

Edelweiss Expanded Edition is a Panzer Grenadier supplement adding German regular army and Waffen SS mountain troops to the game series. It is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front to play most of the scenarios, and Road to Berlin, Battle of the Bulge, Desert Rats and Afrika Korps to play all of them.

It's a revised version of the original Edelweiss supplement released in 2002, the second supplement to the Panzer Grenadier system. All of the previous 24 scenarios have been thoroughly revised to take advantage of map boards and playing pieces not available then, and with five more years of design experience and player feedback. And there are eight new scenarios as well. Scenarios take place on all fronts, with most of the fighting taking place on the Eastern Front but now extending to 1945. Each scenario has its own card in a spiral-bound booklet, just like the popular Iron Curtain and North Wind.

Panzer Grenadier: First Axis APL825: Panzer Grenadier: First Axis is Out of Stock

First Axis is a 64-page book supplement to the Panzer Grenadier series, focused on the battles of the Slovak Army against the Hungarians, Poles, Soviets and Germans. There are 30 new scenarios plus background articles on the armies and weapons involved and unit organization diagrams. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front, Road to Berlin and White Eagles to enjoy all of the scenarios.

In March 1939, the small nation of Slovakia declared its independence from Czechoslovakia and immediately became a satellite of Nazi Germany. Slovak troops became the first Axis forces to fight alongside the Germans, joining in the invasion of Poland in September 1939. They also marched into the Soviet Union in 1941. After five years as the most minor of allies, the Slovaks turned against the fascists and fought with the victorious Allies in the last year of the war.

First Axis includes 88 die-cut and mounted playing pieces. Almost all of them represent Slovak forces, including the small country's surprisingly large array of tanks. There are also a few new Hungarian tank pieces included. The book's format is the same as the very popular White Eagles and Fronte Russo books.

Panzer Grenadier: First Axis
Panzer Grenadier: Fronte Russo

From designers Ottavio Ricchi and Lorenzo Striuli! In the summer of 1941, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini dispatched a corps of three divisions to fight alongside the Germans in their invasion of the Soviet Union. The CSIR arrived at the front in August and soon engaged in combat with the Red Army.

Fronte Russo brings background articles and scenarios covering these crack troops and their battles to the Panzer Grenadier game system. It is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front to play most of the scenarios, and Road to Berlin to play all of them. This is a book supplement complete with a full set of die-cut and mounted counters, much like Sinister Forces and East of Suez.

Scenarios take place on the Eastern Front. The Italian divisions sent to Russia — the Pasubio and Torino infantry divisions and Duca d’Aosta cavalry division — were well-trained units of the regular army, though not well equipped by most standards. Background articles place the scenarios in the full context of the Italian war in Russia.

Italian troops have appeared in the Panzer Grenadier series before, in Afrika Korps and Desert Rats, but in Fronte Russo we provide a completely new set of playing pieces in “European” colors rather than the desert schemes shown previouly. The Italian order of battle includes elite Bersaglieri light infantry, cavalry, light tanks, wagon-mounted “flying” artillery, flame-throwing engineers, and more.

This supplement for the Panzer Grenadier system introduces the U.S. Army's role in fighting the Japanese. In Semper Fi: Guadalcanal we covered the U.S. Marines’ tough fight against the Japanese for Henderson Field and the nearby areas. But Army troops came ashore on Guadalcanal in mid-October 1942, at the height of the struggle for the island.

Jungle Fighting includes 42 scenarios from the Guadalcanal campaign. Most of these feature Army troops, but there are also several from the deep penetration carried out by Marine Raider companies behind Japanese lines.

Jungle Fighting is not a complete game. Play of all scenarios requires Semper Fi: Guadalcanal and Battle of the Bulge.

Panzer Grenadier: March on Leningrad

In the summer of 1941, German panzer spearheads pushed towards Leningrad, Cradle of the Revolution. Adolf Hitler declared the city's capture to be the leading objective of Operation Barbarossa, the June 1941 sneak attack on the Soviet Union. Desperate to stop them and preserve the city of Peter the Great, the Red Army repeatedly made valiant efforts to stop them, and just as often, the Germans rolled over and around them.

By August the city had been isolated from the rest of the Soviet Union, but its defenders refused to yield. For 900 days they held against savage Nazi bombardments, writing an epic chapter in the story of the Great Patriotic War.

March on Leningrad is a supplement based on the German drive to capture Leningrad, and the Soviet defense of the approaches.

Mike Perryman has designed ten scenarios, or separate game situations, based on battles that took place south of Leningrad between June and September 1941.

This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of our Eastern Front and Road to Berlin games and Red Warriors and Sinister Forces supplements.

Each scenario has its own card in a spiral-bound booklet, just like the popular North Wind and Alaska's War.

Crushed by the initial Nazi onslaught, the Red Army reeled back across hundreds of miles. But as resistance stiffened, it became clear that some highly-motivated units fought better than others. These became the Guards, first named in September 1941. They became the Red Army’s best troops, with better training, equipment and pay than the regular army.

The four years of brutal warfare on the Eastern Front brought the political troops of both sides into front-line fighting. Formed to control civilians rather than fight armed enemies, the Soviet NKVD and the much larger German Waffen SS each committed mass murders in the name of ideology and from simple animal barbarism. Knowing their well-deserved fate if captured, they often fought with suicidal fanaticism.

Sinister Forces brings background articles and scenarios covering these troops and their battles to the Panzer Grenadier game system. It is not playable by itself, but requires Eastern Front to play most of the scenarios, and Afrika Korps or Desert Rats to play all of them. Panzer Grenadier: South Africa's War

The Union of South Africa entered World War II with some reluctance — three days of debate raged before Great War hero Jan C. Smuts split the ruling Union Party to force a declaration of war. South African forces fought in the conquest of Italian East Africa, and in the campaigns in Egypt and Libya.

South Africa’s War is a supplement to the Panzer Grenadier series, focused on the battles of South African forces in Somaliland, Ethiopia, Egypt and Libya between 1940 and 1942. Two South African divisions saw action during these campaigns, seeing some of the war’s fiercest actions at the Juba crossings, Gazala, Operation Crusader and of course Tobruk. And in the vanguard of the Allied armored advances rolled the justly-famed South African armored car regiments. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Desert Rats and Afrika Korps to enjoy all of the scenarios.

Thirty-four new scenarios show the desperate fighting in this sector. There are also articles on German helicopter development and the Austrian Federal Army of 1938, plus scenarios for Austrian units. Finally, a set of six scenarios covers Operation Little Saturn, the Soviet attack against the Italian Eighth Army launched at the same time as Operation Mars. World War II began when German tanks rolled across the border of Poland on September 1st, 1939. The Poles fought back courageously, blunting several attacks, but the force of numbers and superior weapons drove them back toward Warsaw.

On the 14th, a Polish counter-offensive broke down after hard fighting, as the slower Polish infantry divisions found themselves out-maneuvered by the faster German panzer formations. Still fighting, the Polish armies fell back toward the southeast to await their Allies' offensive, but on the 17th the Soviet Union launched its own treacherous attack. Fighting would continue into October, but the Polish state was doomed.

White Eagles is a 76-page book supplement to the Panzer Grenadier series, focused on the battles of September 1939, between Poland's defenders and the German and Soviet invaders. There are 40 new scenarios depicting both sides on the attack, battles of cavalry against cavalry, and even a tank battle or two. Plus of course background articles on the armies and weapons involved. This module is not playable by itself, but requires ownership of Eastern Front and Road to Berlin to enjoy all of the scenarios.
